Addiction is a disease that responds extremely well to love, care and attention by those people who have experienced dependency on substances at some point in their lives. The fact that some members of our team have been addicts and are now in recovery, is without doubt an important element. They are able to interact and handle the students with great empathy and understanding. The students appear to appreciate the fact that some of the staff members have 'been there' which gives them great hope that staying sober is not a possibility but a probability. The other set of members who are part of the team are well qualified and well experienced to deal with addicts and addiction related problems.
